The Saga Crusade

With the Cultists dead the scions gather their wounded and secure the parameter. An autogun rifle shot had hit the long range vox caster, leaving the Scions unable to call for an extraction. Little did they know that Skara was lurking in an abandoned manufactorium gather her followers to capture the stranded Imperials.  Counting on her cults numbers and fanatical resolve, Skara once again ordered the Perfect Path forward in a wave under cover of a blanket of autogun fire. Both combatants took heavy losses. Finally finding the scions retreating into a ruined hab center, while the Cultists took shelter in the surrounding rubble. A fire fight ensues. Tempestor Kane, though wounded, orders comms expert Carpenter to repair the long range vox as he fires bolter rounds from the cover of a broken window. 

In the lower levels of Festungrad the public has grown restless. Several small riots have broken out and reports of damage throughout the lower levels. These riots have been quelled by law enforcement, but the public has been in a state of anxiety.  Pamphlets of heretical propaganda have been found circulated through the populace.  The Inquisition sent the Tempestus scions Pegasus Company to the lower levels to investigate.  Tempestor Kane and his squad made their way through a hab block, when they heard explosions. Another riot had broken out, spurred on by cultists of the Perfect Path.  Tempestor Kane gave the order to open fire on the crowd. The square lit up with supercharged Las fire, mowing down civilians and cultists alike.  A Scion fell as his plasma gun overheated. Due to Saga's high tithes in fighting men and women, it has a high number of orphans. These u fortunate children are shipped to Schola Progenium across the sector, and from there to one of the Schola Tempestus where they are trained rigorously in the Imperium's way of warfare and become Tempestus Scions.  From these elite military men few are given the honour of Joining Pegasus Company, an illustrious regiment with over a hundred years of battle honours.  Many of Saga's Tempestus scions throw themselves into battle in order to prove themselves worthy to be transferred to this illustrious company.

Despite Imperial attempts to stamp them out, Saga Prime has long been plagued by chaos cults. An Inquisitorial fortress and nearby Adeptus sororitas shrine world in the sector has done little to eradicate them all. One of the most prominent and influential is The Perfect Path, a Slaaneshi cult that believes the Dark Prince(ss) will lead humanity on the path of ultimate perfection in all things, if they can first throw off the yoke of the Imperium.

Saga Prime is a prosperous Imperial world located in the Saga sector specializing in the manufacturing of munitions for the Imperium's many forces and governed by planetary governor Theodore Verrätor, a former General of the Astra Militarum. Due to the importance of the planet and the tithes of war materials and recruits the planet has been heavily fortified against outside threats.  Joining the Imperium early on in the Great Crusade with little bloodshed the Saga sector was then ravaged by the Warmaster's forces as they fled to the Eye of Terror and left on it's own for 300 years. Many of the population had fallen to chaos worship in the time since the Horus Heresy, building great monuments to the dark gods.
